Blue bathroom tile

Blue tile bathroom need help!! My husband loves the blue tile and that vintage look I hate it and would like to just update it here and there so it's a nice mix of the both of us... the shower curtain was there when we bought the home. I was thinking of painting the cabinets and window trim black, keeping the walls white and getting a shower curtain that is white with black accents.. as well as getting a new white toilet and sink and yes the tub is the same color as the toilet...

I would freshen it up with white. Replace the old sink, vanity and toilet. If you cannot remove the vanity, I'd replace the countertop and sink. Remove the curtain and replace it with a white honeycomb shade for privacy. Same with that shower curtain -- a crisp, simple white replacement would look great. I think introducing another color would be too sharp a contrast, especially black. Staying with one color would balance the amount of blue in the room. I have a 1928 house with a similar floor -- my tub is a light lavender!

I love the tile. I'd rip out the vanity and toilet. Maybe a clear shower curtain to show off the tile.

I like your ideas and those of Pam -- tile is one thing, but a formica counter with a blue sink would be too depressing to wake up to. I think the whole thing will be pulled together by the right choice of shower curtain and maybe a coordinating rug by the sink and/or art over the toilet.

One note -- you say "keeping the walls white," but I think they're currently a bit tan, to match the counter. Go pure white!

I think you can make the blue charming. I would also do what the others recommended and replace the toilet and vanity (or at least the counter top). I picture a white ruffle shower curtain.
