I would try painting the front door Red, the sidelights White and change out the light fixtures to a larger scaled Black finish. Then I'd paint all the shutters Black and install a set of Black shutters on the first floor window (not Bay window).

You didn't ask for it, but I think the landscaping will also benefit the "curb appeal". I'd trim the shrubs that are closest to the house and front door so they are manicured. Do you have another Black urn planter like the one you have on the porch? I'd take out the wheel barrel and fill both urns with a small Evergreen (like a tiny Alberta Spruce or a Topiary) and put White or Red Impatiens at the base.

nkuranc--As RFF states, something that goes well with the roof and bay wdw roof, to add some definition. The last photo shows a front door and shutters that disappear into the brick, in my opinion. I believe it is better for the overall appeal to leave the door in a bold color, such as red, and paint the shades to stand out, as RFF suggests. What a nice, classic home you have!

This would make a nice trim color...and a row of brown pavers soldiered on either side of the walk would tie in well.

I like the idea of a red if you are more traditional, or a blue front door. Those will add in a nice pop of color. Also updating the light fixtures and painting the shutters would be great!

Black is always a classy choice for this style!
We really liked our Cottage Red - PM-15
with black trim/lights... it's a classic trick for making the glass in your windows shine!
We combined this with Revere Pewter HC-172

I prefer an all white door. Maybe make the shutters dark green. Also not sure if you have green painted gutters but I would also recommend painting the gutters white. Such as the picture below. Good Luck :)
