I took my dog for a walk a week ago day and something caught my eye: a
tree branch. on the sidewalk having apparently been trimmed off a tree.
It had an aesthetic quality that was very ]impressive (symmetry, color,
symbolism, etc.). I know nothing about botany, and I don't know what
kind of tree it's even from. I've have it sitting atop a drawer in my
bedroom, but it's turning black.

I wanted to know if there was
any way to try to preserve it and if possible help me figure out tree it
