"Did you take that Blue Cadet pic while lying on the ground?" Actually I had to take a moment to remember! Babka, I just put the camera on the ground and try angling it in the direction I think will give me the photo I am looking for. It's a hit or miss thing. It's fun though. There are a lot of photo possibilities down below!

Thanks ConnieMay. The birch tree has been a sore spot between my husband and I. I have been asking him to remove it due to lots of tree roots in the area. In fact the Blue Cadet used to be in a spin out bag until this year. I thought it may be big enough now to hold its own. We'll see.

No seedlings from Red October (yet!). I just got it this year.

Newhostalady- Well you hit the jackpot composition wise, light wise, and color wise with that birch tree and its leaves, and the deep green hosta leaves and the delicate flowers and the..... well, everything.

Manyhosta - the Montana macrophylla buds look like little stars - very cool. I also like the hosta friends in the other shots. You're lucky to have so many.

I love your hostas exp. First Frost I have this one to. My FF has not bloomed for me yet she is one year for me. I bought her from a lady that sells hostas. yours is very nice:)

Marquest that is really lovely. My Montana A scapes had a similar structure this season but I don't recall seeing that in previous years.

I went out to take a picture of these scapes because they are so curvy and contorted and kind of sculptural.

While there, I photographed this bee, climbing the length of one of these scapes. He flew away when he reached the first open blossom near the tip.

Then I saw this dragon fly, resting on a scape. Thus ends my great scape contributions for the day.

Manyhostas- what Hosta do the curvy scapes belong to?

ConnieMay, Ventricosa. I got it 18 years ago as a piece of my neighbor's big mature specimen. It is at least 7 feet wide. I could probably give an eye to everybody on the forum and still have a big hosta remaining. :-)

This one is not notable in the scape department, but it's nicely decorated.
