Don't drill a draining hole - that pot is perfect for African violets. I have one. You put the water in the outer pot and the soil and the plant in the inner pot. The plant soaks up the water as the pot is porous.

It really is - since with these plants you don't want to get water on the leaves.

I have no experience with African Violets, they are very beautiful though and wouldn't mind to broaden my knowledge. Cacti and succulents are my niche. That's what I grow, and have knowledge about. I have a few other very low maintenance house plants. It is nifty and thanks for the info :)

This are pots for growing African violets and other plants that rot easily. you plant AV in inner, unsealed pot. Fill outer pot with water and the inner pots is kept moist from the water in outer pot. They used to be pricey.
