Out of 10000 registered... probably there is a good amount of frilly edge blossoms medium purple, quilted scalloped leaves... I can foresee long time guessing..

Well it came from a seller who sells named avs.. And yes I still would like names.. I know.. Silly right?

I had to put a plastic lid to keep the leaves up.. I just noticed yesterday of the different height levels of the leaves.. Hope I'm not doing anything wrong

No, it's not silly to want the name. I have a hard time with NOID's in just about any plant - just a little bit OCD that way. But it could be a sport, it could be it didn't bloom true from the leaf...and I agree, it doesn't look a bit like any photos out there of Treasure Chest. That said, the photos that are out there of TC vary quite a bit (but not to where they come close to solid purple.) Guess you have a mystery plant and you can love it if you wish or get rid of it.

As to doing anything wrong - why, in your photo your plant just looks beautiful. Some violets just have leaves that hang down a bit. As long as the stems aren't all soft or mushy, I'd say don't worry. Perfectly ok to use a ring of some kind (like a plastic lid) to keep them horizontal, if that's how you like them to be. I'd also do as Irina suggests, removing any lower level leaves that are smaller than the leaves above them.

I noticed some of the leaves stem bent from the pot they are in.. This is actually one I purchased first and it's the first bloom so never been pruned.. It all of a sudden grew so quickly and so many buds I didn't have the heart to mess with it just yet.

No I love it too much to part with it... Just wish the seller would message back.. For highly praised their not good with communication

I think that it's a sport of the plant you thought you were getting ... or, more likely, the plant you thought you were getting is a sport of the one you have.

Everything seems to fit ... except for the blossom color ... and the lack of fantasy.

Something to remember ... is that all African Violets originated from solid color varieties ... and that those original varieties sported in various ways, supplying us with the multitude of African Violets varieties we see today.

Sometimes a plant will genetically take steps to go back to its roots (so to speak). Multi-colors will go solid in some cases.

I've had several plants make this transition ... Iceberg, Satin & Lace, Bloomlover's Fantasy. It can be tough sometimes for some varieties of violets to live up to their reputation/description.

That's where it originated from

African Violets want to be .... violet, ... and single ... at their basic genetic level.

If you continue with African Violets, you will occasionally lose desired plant characteristics ... to this tendency ... to revert back.

It doesn't happen often, ... but it does happen.

Your plant is a beauty regardless, BTW ...
