Generic Lowes Adenium, Pretty in Pink

These are a few first flowers on a fairly large generic unnamed pink adenium obseum I picked up on clearance at Lowes back in the spring. It is a good backup root stock if I need it with a nice caudex. Roots are in training. Still, I also like a plain pink for a nice contrast to fancier flowers so I plan to wire the stems up a bit and train it for my own pleasure.

Some of the flowers are lightly streaked or mottled, some not as much.

Pretty! I miss my regular pink guy. I lost it this last winter. It was starting to look beautiful. Ill have to get another! This is my departed one:

I am so sorry to hear that, Candice! When my seedlings get to blooming I'm sure I'll end up with some pinks to spare! They just might not flower before next season as my summer only has a month or two to go and I think they are a bit small to make flowers yet. But I might possibly get a surprise before autumn so I'm keeping an eye on them.

Mine from Lowes is kinda reddish pink. I have two others that I bought from there but they have not bloomed yet.

Thanks Hyn. I have about 20 seedlings right now as well. They were listed as exotic colors but you know how that goes, so probably some pinks in there, lol.

Nice, Marie! My other generic Lowes adenium is a deep red-pink with no hint of white at all. They are by Costa Farms of Florida of course and I got them pretty cheap.

I like pink! When plant has a lot of flowers they look awesome! All I'm getting from Mr Ko's seeds Is white with little bit of pink. :(

They're not even a good shape, but when it's blooming it is beautiful!

That one is nice, Jedoba! Solid colors can make especially nice displays as a whole.

Jerry, awesome plant! I'll definitely keep couple of pinks if I'll ever get them, lol.

Patty all together I have around 200 seedlings from Mr Ko's seeds, only six bloomed so far. Two doubles:

thise one #35

second is Double blush

and other four from Ko's #31, 52, and 24, all looked the same:

So I didn't get anything pink. Or anything spectacular, hahaha. Hopefully some more will bloom this fall, I'm about to get them from under the tree on a full sun, our crazy temp finally dropping to high 90s.

I really like that first double pink/white and that dark edged red may mature yet into a really nice plant, given some time. First blooms on young plants are often no where as nice as they'll be later.

I'm right with you on the being patient thing. I have 400 seedlings slowly maturing towards first flowering but I'm not sure if any of them will quite reach that point this year. Next year though should be a nice show, I hope!

The first one is very nice. Good for you Elena.

You know, I think the "Pinks" are underrated these days. Much is due to the fact that we are getting some really nice shades of pink and combinations of color.

The Pink from many years ago or original plants was quite different or maybe we just get so intrigued with the new hybrids being introduced.

I find myself drawn, especially to the Single Pinks.
