you can use

• reptibark (pricey, but found at the pet stores);

• no. 2 cherrystone (chicken grit [non oyster shell type]); and,

• Napa floor dry (part no. 8822) as a 1:1:1 mix (equal parts)

Fertilize half strength every watering until the end of October. Bring inside when temps drop under 55 degrees at night.

Full sun is a definite unless you're trying to root them.

I have them in a mixture of gritty mix and a tad bit of potting soil when I was in Cali. They are from about 8 months old to maybe a couple of years old. I've been trying to find pumice and other things but the only thing I can find is potting soil and perlite and 1 brand of cactus soil which is Miracle gro. I guess they can stay in their pots until next year. I put them outside ever since I got to New Orleans. Some sun but it has been so cloudy and raining a lot lately.

here's a couple of pix of them. These were what I was managed to stuffed in my husband's truck on our drive to New Orleans. I also have 4 1 year old plumeria seedlings too.

Here in North Texas I use Miracle Grow cactus mix and perlite at a 50/50 ratio. But, I also use clay pots, which will absorb the moisture from the soil mix.
