I need to make some simple cool shirts for summer. I work outside, and they have to be all natural fibers and have nothing that traps heat. No collars, etc. Plus I need to look nice! Selling my work at art fairs all
summer.

After a lot of looking, it seems like no one makes a pattern for as simple as I want these shirts. So I tried on 3 shirts I already have that work well. I will have to copy features from all 3.

2 have collars: I’ll use just the neckline of the one that doesn’t.

2 have a back yoke. The panel below that (the back) has 2 pleats: that seems to add ease so I’ll use that.

2 have darts on the front panel, and those seem to make the fit more flattering.

Now THAT I don’t know how to allow for when I make my paper pattern. I don’t know how it will change the angle of the cutting line for the sides.

Can anyone explain that to me? Thanks!
