My brother is in Phoenix but I could not even get him to bring me a Bloomsweet grapefruit seed with him when he comes east. He won't even look at my citrus trees or even pictures of them. He is super main stream.

I had an aunt and uncle in Phoenix who I would periodically visit. They had the BEST grapefruit, Arizona Sweet and Washington Naval oranges! One summer day I helped them juice two gallons of tree-ripened grapefruits. AMAZING flavor after it was chilled. Nectar of the gods, I say.

If you had any idea how hard it is to buy citrus trees in a citrus state you would have stayed up north. It is so much easier to find citrus tree in Michigan than Arizona, Texas, California, Georgia, or Florida.

Phoenix is a great place to grow pummelo. It has mild enough winters and gets plenty enough heat to ripen the fruits. (Pummelos are also a bit more tolerant of intense sun and hot conditions than orange trees are)

Not many people in Arizona are familiar with this fruit though.
