It's actually pretty easy. You need a bunch of corks to start. I bet we used 1500 corks in this backsplash. Contact your local bars and restaurants and ask them if they have any extra. So to install, get some sort of fast set construction adhesive, we used Loctite's Power Grab in this case. On the bottom rows to get started, I'd apply the adhesive to each cork, then install by simply just pressing against the wall. I'd go row by row staggering each row like you'd install a staggered joint tile. If one needed a trim, like at the end of a row, just use a utility knife to trim. I'd go up 5 rows at a time and let set up for a while so they didn't fall down. Once I got above the first 5 rows or so and applying the adhesive to each cork, I'd just run a line of adhesive right above the previous row and then just press the corks into it. Again, very simple. It's not going to be perfect because there are a ton of different size corks. We applied this right to the drywall, stuck just fine.
