Folks - I am desperately in need of some bright ideas to fix our fireplace surround. Please take a look. We moved into this older house (built Circa 1987) close to three years ago, and slowly sprucing it up one room at a time. We just don't know what to do with the wood fireplace. We are planning to put a gas fireplace insert before fall, but what should we do with the surround. Can we paint it? I don't want to rip out all the stones, as its going to cost quite a bit of dough :-(.
Also while you are at it, any bright paint color ideas for the wall above the fireplace? What we have is a yellowish/white and dull :-)
thanks folks, appreciate your inputs.
