We have raised panel cabinet doors and chose to leave the end panels plain except on the island. The island has a decorative molding and then quarter round shoe mold. The end panels just have the shoe mold. Here are a couple of pictures, not the best angle but what I have.

Ours are Shaker vs raised, but I think the idea is the same. We have one run of cabinets that ends practically on top of the doorway. For those we just went with a finished end on the cabinets:

At the other end of the kitchen, we did a finished end

This is the end on an island, but it looks the same as the non-island run
