Lilac with brown leaves

I just bought this lilac bush in May. It's had a rough go getting started, and now has dark spots on leaves. This doesn't look like bacterial blight; could it be over/under watering? I've done a lot of traveling this summer, but tried to keep up as best I could. All help appreciated!
