cymbidium repot

I am repotting a cymbidium which is newly shipped bare root with one psuedobulb and one growth into purchased purchased fir bark with perlite and charcoal. I will be growing this outdoors on a brightly lit porch which gets 1 to 2 hours of morning sun during the summer and indoors from late fall through early spring in california zone 9b. It has healthy roots and everything else is healthy. The sun is too intense to grow in sun here. The seller suggests a 5 inch pot but the roots will almost touch the bottom of a 5 inch pot. I've never used bark before. If I use a 6 inch pot, will the medium stay too wet and rot the roots? I need to pot yesterday. It's been in a bag with roots in moist bark for a couple days.
