I use a basic potting mix to start them and later change it to a grittier/better draining mix. I usually get 95% germination rate with the basic potting mix. I keep them covered for humidity the first couple of weeks with a mini plastic seed starter kit and crack it a bit for a little air.

One of the main reasons I was asking everyone about their seed soil is because Roger was kind enough to send me some seeds. I'm a little nervous and plus I would like to know what others use to start seeds. I don't want to do anything wrong.

I don't see why not. I'm not an expert but from my personal experience, I think it'll be fine. Maybe be careful of them drying out, since it's so hot. I'm not sure if too much heat and direct sun would do anything. If it were me, I'd put them in indirect/partial sun. That's another experiment to be had. Maybe put a few seeds out in the direct sun and a few in indirect and see how they react.

Thanks Peter, i've also been looking at the various YouTube vids. Its also helpful to find someone growing in a similar climate to help increase your chances of successful growing. That's what at makes these forums so valuable. So again thanks for taking the time to respond :)
