Help w/old Ryobi grinder disc change

Inherited my dads old Ryobi sc-1000 4" grinder. How do I change the disc? Seems to be missing some sort of spacer since the cutting disc sits flat on the upward sloping guard base or did I buy the wrong cutting disc that needs a center spacer to raise it up off the grinder base? I'm planning on cutting 1/2" stainless steel rods. thanks

If the lower nut unscrews, remove it and insert a 5/8" washer under it. One washer should give you the right clearance. If it doesn't unscrew, get a fender washer the right size (outer diameter close to the nut size) and drill a 5/8" hole in it.

Or, buy a cupped disc.

You might contact Ryobi for a manual - I don't see that model on their website.

You could use the grinder wheels that have the built-in threaded fitting. No other nut required and it centers the wheel in the shield.
