I'm afraid the colors in the room fight with each other. The turquoise doesn't go with the curtains, and since you're keeping the curtains I'd take my color inspiration from that for the bedspread, pillow shams, throw pillows etc. A bedspread close to the color of the blue in the curtains which has enough body to hang well would be lovely. You can have throw pillows in the green color in the curtains. Wall art is essential, and perhaps a mirror. If you don't really need the bench at the foot of the bed I'd remove it, or buy a new one since the cushion looks worn. The room would look more spacious without it.

I would disagree. The bench is the dusty blue in the curtains--good match. The upholstery has a nap that isn't photographing well. Agree, look for a bedspread in the darker blue. It is so difficult to get a feel for footage in a photo. In my house that blank wall would have a photo montage of family. Furniture w/o a purpose/NEED in a tight space seems silly.

The bench is a sage green, so I know it doesn't match at all, but we need something for our dog to jump on. Would something like this go?

I agree on the darker teal for the bedspread. I should have got it but it was twice the price (still only $60- kicking myself for 'saving' the $30!- but it was a few years ago.) I also have a mustardy yellow/white striped duvet cover for winter that coordinates decently.

I really like the 2nd and last colors to match the drapes. (Course I like neutrals.)

That bench looks really easy to recover. Check under bottom as see how top is attached. You might not even need to do the welt. Can you obtain matching drape fabric?

Your draperies are beautiful. Your headboard seems to be a bit on the rustic side, so I am wondering if you're going for a rustic or rustic-modern look overall. I think the night stands are getting a bit lost, but the lamps help brighten up the corners, so maybe you need some lightening up of accessories in the colors you choose on the night stands.

I like the bench you posted, but again, I think you need to decide first on a quilt /bedspread color (and shams) and then make a decision on the bench. For the large blank wall, I wouldn't put anything in the floor, just use a large piece of art or sculptural piece. Or use 3 similar, same sized art pieces in alignment.

OutsidePlaying - I know, the nightstands get lost with the floors and the headboard. Originally the plan was to put carpet in the bedroom but we ended up continuing with the hardwoods
