My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    The top was black walnut 78" x 78"

    If I needed a slightly lighter wood, can walnut be stained lighter?

    This top was not even stained - only a clear protective top coat was applied. If you want lighter, you would probably have to select a wood other than black walnut.

    The island was designed by the clients architect and built by our local custom cabinet shop - J&J Cabinets.
