Does this room need a coffee table?

Another tight space. Does this room need a coffee table, if there are plenty of side tables for drinks?

Can you post photos from different angles and include more of room? Is there room to rearrange the furniture?

I don't see drink tables beside/between the two chairs. To me every room needs a touch of sparkle. I see a gold piece on the mantle, so why don't you put a glass table that has a touch of gold (the trim) between the two chairs to bring the gold into the room. All of your metal looks dark. Or a small glass coffee table that is trimmed with gold in front of sofa.
Your room is very pretty, but it seems a little "dark" to me with the dark metal.

Maybe change the candle holders on the mantel to gold.

Will post more shots of the room. Loving the feedback!

The chairs do have tables. I'll try to include them:

Are you using the fabric cubes for resting your feet? Maybe you would like a rectangular ottoman instead of a coffee table. Add a metallic tray on top.
    Yes, cubes for feet.
Guess I do need a coffee table!
Maybe get rid of the poufs?
No, it needs a round table between the chairs and end tables for the sofa. It also needs lamps more in keeping with the scale and style of the furniture.
A lovely room. I'd consider perhaps a glass, oval table in the middle, nothing too large or heavy.

Yes, every living room needs a coffee table. Remove those puffs and get a glass top coffee table. Remove that white blanket on that gray chair. Remove the mirror over the fireplace.

Yes, the sofa needs something. No need for poufs. I think I see that each chair has a small table next to it, so that’s good and guessing you can't put one between chairs as that area looks like a walkway.

How about something fun…to go with the personality of your very nice room...

Thinking an Asian bench for coffee table.

One question? Is your rug centered in the room? It looks as if there the chairs are on rug and the sofa is not….kind of an compulsive thing of mine...

I had a round mirror topped one in there before I unceremoniously removed it this morning.

    Here it is:

Yes, it does. Everyone needs to be able to put their drink, book, etc. down without using the floor. A coffee table in the center will take care of that for all and you do not need another table unless you want one. The room looks fairly tight to me so, I would choose a smaller scale table with a glass top to keep the room open and not crowded.

I like the scale of that table! Can you remove the mirror and put in a piece of glass?

    It's metal underneath, unfortunately.

I love your fireplace wall - very nice wall arrangement. I agree the poufs have to go. And you do need a coffee table. I would push the two chairs close together and put an end table at the outside end instead of between them.

If you're going to use a coffee table in this small space, be sure every seat is 18" or less away from it or you'll still need other tables. I love "C" tables - they take up little space, they look great and they work with chairs or sofas. I agree about centering the rug with the FP, and you might consider just using one chair, angled right of the FP, if you can use the other one in the master or other room.

Cock the chairs slightly towards each other, not facing the couch directly.

No, to that coffee table. You were right on when you removed it.

No, the rug isn't centred! Yikes.

It's a square rug. Probably the rug is too small now!
So the legs of both the sofa and the chairs should be half on and half off?
Definitely pull back that rug. Will room allow you to center with fireplace. Also, if I am seeing the tables beside the chairs correctly, they are too small (short). Place a round table (drum-like) between the two chairs-glass and gold. It doesn't have to be large but tall enough, at least the height of the arms of the chairs.
The only problem with putting a table between the chairs is it makes entering the room a little difficult.

I've unfortunately had to put the round table back for now, while I look for a somewhat affordable replacement. Looked kind of odd with nothing.

But I have moved one of the armchairs out to free up some room. What I wouldn't do to get rid of that piano! Causes many headaches and not just in the design sense.

    Here's yet more shots:

Oh, and I've centred the rug!

Thank you so much, everyone, for taking the time to help me out today. I really appreciate all of your comments.
No, but you can put an end table between the 2 accent chairs & get diff ottomans/foot stools that will complement the style of the room.
Yes ....but if space is small ....how about one that could have the foot stools slide under or two flat surface foot stools pushed together when not being used ?
I just happen to have two stools in another room that I could push together - I'll try now!

The stools are upholstered in grey fabric which is beginning to be redundant in there.

Guess I could reupholstered them if they work!
OK, here are the stools butted together:

So much better...a tray for when you need to set down a drink...a small drinks table for chair by fireplace...Looks cozy..Love what I can see of your art work.

Lol was just going to comment about using a tray on the stools ....looks good if you are going to recover you could do with a flat top...maybe foam will flip over?

If needed, I think it would be be fine to bring back the grey chair a bit more towards the corner and angled toward door with the lamp and martini table..

Sorry, Jdgail, do you mean bring back the chair I removed?

And yes, if stools work in here I can get them reupholstered.

Definitely a lot of grey fabric. Pretty much every item in this room wasn't actually purchased for this room so a little rejigging is definitely in order.

No, I like the smaller chair..you can just bring the existing grey back a bit toward the corner..leave front leg/s on carpet but will open room a bit more...your preference..

Gotcha. And thank you! I'll try it out.

You could upholster those pretty benches in a cream velvet and then add pillows to your sofa in beige and grey (such as cream with grey stripes and other cream and grey patterns). I like the small chair added to your living room. All looks so nice.

PS I still would love to see some more gold.

Cream velvet sounds lovely. As do your suggestions for the throw cushions - definitely need to brighten up things on there.

And yes, more gold! I'll do my best.

with 2 pillows smaller than current..LOVE art above piano too..

I don't use this word often but you guys are awesome!

Pillows have been relocated to basement and looking splendid. Husband filing for divorce shortly, I'm sure.

Hurry with the new pillows and a tray for the benches..Then he can lay down and have a place to set a cold. Beautiful space..enjoy!
