rhizo, that was my initial thought as well but I cannot ever remember seeing these on star jasmine (which is pretty common here) nor could I find any references indicating that it was inclined to develop these.

How's this for a coincidence....more adventitious roots from a couple of years ago.

I used to see this happen pretty commonly in coastal S. Carolina.

Common in humid regions and if grown in a humid greenhouse.

btw ... the plant is showing you.. where you could take new cuttings.. if you wanted more plants ...

i would just snip below.. and put in a pot with wet media.. and cover with a plastic bag.. for humidity for a couple weeks.. in bright shade ..

also .. last pic above.. i wonder if there was some issue of mealy bug or downy aphids .. but they appear to be gone ... the white fuzz just above the roots ???

I have the same thing going on but not sure what it is can anybody tell me I believe it's some type of fungus that's not known about

@colette davis, did you read the previous comments? The issue in the OP's photo was identified as adventitious or aerial roots......not entirely uncommon with star jasmine. So not a fungus, not a disease and not an insect pest.
