Like a tomato eggplant perfect flowers. all it takes is a little shake of the plant. Some varieties do better than others. Do you have the same variety that has performed well before?

Agree their blooms are self-fertile often pollinating themselves before the bloom even opens. Wind plays only middling role. Finger-flicking the blooms, a little shake of the plant, etc. is normally sufficient.

But if the temps and/or humidity in the gh is abnormally high then just as outdoors, the pollen becomes tacky and non-viable.

The tomatoes in the greenhouse are fertilizing themselves just fine.

I guess I got a bad eggplant variety for my situation.

I picked up a different variety at the nursery, put that in the greenhouse. The first version is a "long green," seeds from Univ Hawaii. The new one is a fat purple one from Walmart.

I have a great winter tomato from Walmart; the UH seedlings don't do nearly as well.

You never know what'll prosper.
