I agree, very odd. I would look at what you need in the house? Do you need another bathroom? If not just remove the shower. If you do need another bathroom I would either make it a full bathroom or make it a half bath but make it accessible from the hall since a half bath is odd as an ensuite in a room.

Remove the shower, there's no way to decorate yourself out of that sore thumb. And I can't think of anyone who would want to sit on the toilet in their bedroom.
