From here it just looks like a basic fungus gnat. They're not beneficial nor will they wipe out your whole collection in a day, but they do take a toll on the root system over time. Body looks too bulky for a fungus gnat. But, in any event, watering with water treated with a mosquito dunk will kill off larvae. Do a search on the GW forums. Can't recall if it has been discussed here on the AV forum (think it has) but certain it has been on the House Plants forum.

Doesn't look like any of the known pests. So - this little guy probably came from outside and may be was not even interested in your AVs.
