If you have planted them then yes, they need to be kept slightly moist.once in the earth they will try to grow. Without moisture they will die. They don't need to be in the garage at the moment. If you have very cold winters they could be put in there later in the year.

You actually could have kept them unplanted for several more weeks or even months in a cool dark place. I won't be planting any daffs until October.
