Did I kill my foxtail seedling?

Hello. I was given 19 foxtail palm seeds awhile back and so far 11 have germinated. Yay, except I just cut the tap root of one of them when I was transplanting the seedlings into deeper pots. I was truly heartbroken when I saw what happened. Is there any chance that it can regrow or did I just kill my seedling? Luckily, I still have 10 more seedlings if this one doesn't make it. Thanks for any advice.

Palms don't have a 'tap root' but of course they start off with few of them. I'd hold onto the seedling and try to keep it going. I've never broken off roots on my Foxtail seedlings, but I have found other innovative ways of killing them :(
