I unknowingly snipped off the leader branch on one of my sequoias and now it is not growing in height only in circumference. What to do? Can I expect laterals to step up and become leaders? The partner of this tree, which I did not apparently damage, is growing sky high, thriving. It has been 2 years now; in NH. Would appreciate any thoughts, solutions. With thanks.
