There are many orchid species that are naturally small, the smallest flower in the world is an orchid. Schoenorchis comes to mind as a fairly common miniature. As far as the "Miniature" Phalanopsis that are sold in big box stores, most are regular Phals that will eventually grow to regular size. Some will be breed to be smaller than a typical Phal but will get bigger than it is when purchased.
