With two different pruning styles, you may want to separate them so the type two are on one end and type three on the other, though you can just hard prune them all for ease of work.

You also want ones of about the same size or vigor or so that you don't end up with the smaller ones getting swamped by the large ones. I think that the last two aren't as vigorous as the first two, though YMMV.

I think my most enthusiastic bloomer is Mikelite, which starts around July 1, and has blooms well into August. It is a red-tinted purple with a slightly lighter band down the petal center. It has a major flush for a few weeks and then continues to throw out smaller numbers of blooms for a while. The seed heads are ornamental as well, but it might bloom longer if I cut back the vines after the first flush, I don't know.

I mix pruning style 2 & 3 plants together and prune them as type 3s as they all usually die back the same over the winter.

Elsa Spathe has impressed me with its long bloom time and nice looking blooms. Ernest Markham, Purple Pleno, and Polish Spirit start later but are also long blooming. You could put a less vigorous variety if it blooms early so doesn't matter if it gets swallowed up by later bloomers. Guernsey Cream is one of the earliest bloomers for me.

My Warsaw Nike puts on a show. It is paired with BlueAngel. First WN opens then BA opens so they bloom together before WN fades leaving BA to bloom alone.

Decide if you want consecutive blooming or combined blooming or some of both. I plant 2ft apart on fencing and choose complimentary or contrasting bloom groups .

Then using bloom times choose plants that bloom together or consecutively. With our short summer's I don't cut back for a second flush. Most varieties will throw a few secondary blooms now and then until we have a hard frost.
