I need rug ideas that will complement this fabric please!

I have this neat fabric I want to make some sort of window treatments with for my dining nook. The space measures approx 11' x 11' and I have a large round sort of shabby french country table to put there.
What rug would complement and not clash with this fabric and what size and shape rug? 8' x 8' square for a round table? 8' round? I will take wall color suggestions as well. Thank you for the help!

I'm fond of seagrass rugs that are pretty easy to find, or can be ordered online.

Would like to see table and nook area to make a suggestion.

Margo - I'm building at the moment so I can't actually show you the nook and the dining table is packed away in a moving pod. It's a typical looking round pedestal table, top is wood, pedestal and chairs are a combination of wood and a chippy cream color. Here is how the nook look on the floor plan. I will take paint color suggestions as well!

Wow, your kitchen layout looks like mine :) I too have a round French country table, I have windows on the end wall of the nook (facing back of house) I put plantation shutters on the lower half and curtain on top. I opted for no rug as I love my wood floors. What are your floors?

To recommend paint we would need to know cabinet color and appliance finish too.
Margo - I like the idea of plantation shutters on the lower half. My cabinets are a dark wood, my appliances are stainless steel, in the kitchen and nook area I opted for 18" x 18" tile in a neutral light to medium beige type color...

Hmm... my first choice would be no rug.
But if you like a rug, here are some guidelines that you could (don't have to) follow to choose the appropriate size, follow the link under the picture.

A jute rug, natural colour could be nice.

I am liking that green sample that Joansahmed posted. If you are like me and sit at the table often, then I would put something soothing for the barefoot. How about a light sage green for the walls.
I would go with a 10 by 10 rug pulling from the spring green color from the drapery fabric for color - and something with some texture. One possibility for the wall color would be the same color as the neutral base color of the drapery fabric. Given the size of the room, you might want to see how the room would look without a rug as a possible option before deciding to purchase one.

Are you absolutely sold on this fabric for the window treatments? Pretty busy...maybe for the seat cushions? I would use a square or round rug..no rectangles. Tight woven, vs. pile as it is your main dining area. I would go solid with a contrasting boarder to anchor the pattern. French country cream walls with a cream or bronze chandelier...use matching window hardware. 1st picture I used 2tone cream stripes with a patterned rug..both from overstock.com. the second is a chandelier option with monochromatic color scheme. 3rd picture is a curtain idea with 4th picture as an area rug option

Funny, I am sitting in my office which is sage green, your fabric is showing against the wall on the computer screen and I tell you the walls would look great in sage green.
Thank you for the options as well JWinteriors - just one question and certainly not trying to be offensive at all - if my fabric is too busy, why isn't your curtain fabric equally as busy? I am no designer obviously so there might be something I'm missing. I'm not sold on the fabric as I like the chair cushion idea, but I do already own about 20 yards of this fabric so was trying to use it somewhere. Thank you!

Margo I have always been attracted to sage green.
Just to get things really confusing LOL I would not like that fabric as a chair cushion.

I think the fabric that you have, with the grapes, is really nice. Has a sunny holiday in France feel. Lovely to have that around you. And so apt. for a kitchen/dining area.

carolins, Margo - with tile on my floor I was concerned the space might be a bit "cold" without a rug...no? It will get a LOT of sunlight in the mid to late afternoon through those windows.
If you don't have underfloor heating, the tiles will feel colder than wood would :-) I typed my first comment before I knew you were having a tiled floor. It will probably look a bit 'cooler' than wood would (ha) too. So, if you want a rug, go for it.

You could also do a cool light blue color on the walls with the green rug. It would pick up the color of the grapes. Do an arrangement on the table with faux grapes and silk flowers.

I am not much into mixing patterns. I like dining nooks, like this sounds to be, serene.

lol...carolins, I should have stated, I'm in Texas, if anything we need underfloor cooling - so no, no underfloor heating here. I have a dark wood throughout the foyer, the great room, the "official" dining area off the great room, the flex room and the master....but opted for tile in the kitchen, dining nook and laundry area - because of cost and I had a good place to make the transition.

Your fabric is very French country looking which is perfect for your table. It will be lovely. Some of us tend to want to totally redo peoples houses when you just need a simple rug and a few accessories to pull it together.
Kayanee- I think with the tile floors you SHOULD have a rug, I stated it should be friendly to the bare foot ;)
I think a cool blue would tend to go modern, all though pretty!
joansahmed, I like the idea of a cool blue as well and had been leaning towards something like that but really, really want to stay away from an obvious BLUE kitchen....any cool blue color suggestions? I don't know if you can get much from this picture, but this my combination of dark cabinets, the wood floors, the tile and my glass/stone backsplash and my granite. That white chunk in the top right, that is the color they are painting all of my rooms then I will go back and add my own colors.
Beautiful combination of materials you've chosen. It will be a beautiful kitchen.
You might want to use the cream from the backsplash as the wall color since both rooms are so close to each other. Pull colors in for accents.

The constant colors are black and cream. I would continue the theme of the fabric and the kitchen colors in your choice of rug. I recommend adding 18" to the table when purchasing a rug. You want your chairs on the rug. So, if you go sq. 10 x 10 or round 10'. That will leave with a foot of floor showing.

Cream walls and a great chandy would finish it off.

I have to say that I absolutely love your fabric and agree that is has a French feel. That fabric has all of the information you need to finish out your space. Do not veer from it! 11' x 11' is a nice size for a nook. If you want contrast, select a rug with a low pile and in a plain color that is in the fabric. A color closer to your flooring will keep the space as open as possible. Rug needs to be 10' x 10' round, preferable.

Find some art that also has a French theme. Multiples of the images might be needed to complete the wall arrangements.

    LOVE the wine barrel chandelier!
Ehm... I like all those French and winebarrel related items, but not sure if you should go 'all French country' in your dining area, since your kitchen is quite modern. Just a note. It's up to you of course.

The walls in the nook can be painted blue if you use accessories in blues to pull it together, blue rugs, oven mitts, blue dishes on the wall and a paint the walls a warm cream.
You could also pick up the brown color in the fabric, paint the walls a soft brown, get a dark golden rug. Depends upon how much natural light you have in the kitchen. Use some copper accessories.
