Can this be set up as both a left and/or right return?

I have two questions please:
Can the desk be configured as a left return AND/OR a right return or can it only be configured as shown? I feel like I have seen it both ways, but need to confirm.
I am interested in two of these desks, both without the hutch - is that an option?
