Tranquility Rose Help

Hi Rose Experts! I've just purchased 3 pots of Tranquility Rose (dave austin) and wish they were icebergs (what do i know? This is my first time growing)

one of the rose bushes has 1 long stem at about 4' or taller with buds ready to open. So that it can fill out, should I cut it down to blend in with the rest of the plant? Its been raining in Chicago today so the leaves are up. Hopefully the photo makes sense.. by the way. Thanks for your help!

You might want to post on the regular or antique rose forum instead of propagation for a better response.

Katrina , hello! You can do what you want in this situation. If after it blooms you want to cut it back , go for it . If I had 4 of the same bush I probably would cut the one odd one back . More will grow from where you cut . Good luck to you and enjoy your beautiful roses !
