Thank you both for the great news:). I got them as cannas from a flee market this spring. The leaves were all green when I got it. And not much different from the other cannas' leaves. I did not water and feed this banana at all, after all, thought it is a canna - until I saw the bloched leaves the other day. Always wanted to grow a banana tree but never seen one sold locally. I was going to leave the cannas outside this winter to see if they survive. but now, I will dig this banana and try to overwinter it inside. So glad I asked for the ID. Any tips for overwintering a banana? Should I let it go dormant? Again, thanks.

Thank you, Matt. Pot it up with garden soil? I have other house plants but never grown them in garden soil before - or should I wash the banana root and re-pot it into my gritty /5-1-1 mix?

Never use the garden soil lol always potting mix light and airy

maybe 5-1-1 never used it so I can't comment on that

So, I will dig it up, wash all the garden soil from it root and then pot it up in a potting mix /5-1-1? A little bit nervous if this is the right to do a re-potting and if it is better just dig a bigger root ball and pot it in a pot without disturbing its roots?

I did the digging and repotting today. I also find another that looks like banana and repotted it too. Do you think it is a banana or canna?

Don't worry, incredibly resilient plants, don't overwater, they're slowing down so needs for anything are drastically reduced.
