Well with the limited view, I would take the magnets off the refrigerator, put a picture on the wall, a long rug runner between the island and the stove, and put a bowl of green apples on the island.

Art that combined the neutral tan of your backsplash and floor, gray counters and walls and a touch of deep brown would be nice. Where do the doors go? To the left of the left white door is a good place for art, and to the left of the french doors a framed blackboard with cup hooks along the bottom would be practical and attractive. You could print some casual family pics in a seipia tone and put them in a charcoal mat and white frame.

This is one of my favorite kitchens. Classic and understated but beautiful!

I would put either two pendant lighting on the island or a 3 light chandelier to make it as a focal point. As others suggested, you can put a fruit bowl, fresh flowers etc. Bring some color into this kitchen.

Turing the kitchen island into a breakfast bar with some nice wooden stools and placing something on it could look rather nice.
