How about River Bordeaux granite with this tiled floor ?

Hello all,

Based on GW feedback, we have changed our dark/busy tile floor selection for a lighter porcelain tile. DH did not prefer the wood look tile and stone tiles are not in the budget.

I like option 1, it has some grey that looked nice with the grey/green in the RB. Will this tile look too patterned even though the colors are light ? Option 2 did not get as many good customer reviews because of inconsistencies in size.

1) RB w Onyx Sand

2) RB with floor tile 2 (forgot name)

3) RB with floor tile 3 (original tile, not in contention anymore)

4) RB with floor tile 4, its the light tile on top of the onyx sand. Least amount

of pattern, color is warmer than in the picture but only available in 12X12

The cabs are maple as shown in the pictures. Appreciate your feedback.

I like #1. Yes, it's swirly, but the contrast is low so it's not competing with the countertops.

If you can find a not busy med to pewter shade of gray...that's better w maple and your counter pick. Maple goes more yellow.....the beiges and so forth aren't as nice as basic gray I think. Just avoid busy. The counter w the maple is nice

The first two look fine with the granite but not with the maple, which reads yellow. The onyx sand looks really bad with the maple in the fourth photo, but that tile changes tone in the two photos, so it's hard to say.

Except it's hard to read color on a computer. On my computer #1 looks fine with the maple cabinets.

Re: light, the room is north east facing so light changes quite dramatically. We have a 60" window and two small piano windows facing east and two 24" windows facing north. The west side of the kitchen opens into the family room

The east side lets in morning sun until about noon but only to one side of the kitchen (neighbors house is close by). The kitchen has diffuse light the rest of the day. I dont have lights installed in the kitchen yet, thinking of dragging a floor lamp to the kitchen and re-photographing the combination of tile and granite and cabs.

Floor tile shopping is so not fun ... sigh.

Tile 1 is my favorite in a vacuum, but given your other materials the color of Tile 2 works better on my monitor, provided that you're okay with highlighting the yellowish warmth of the maple rather than downplaying it. Tile 1 works well to downplay it, and as I am not a fan of that yellow/warm color that would be my choice. Tile 4 is not a contender at all for me.
