Gold nugget

I got my gold nugget today. It looks a bit rough but i think with some copper fungicide i can get rid of the black powdery mildew and it will green right up.

Mine started to push a bit growth out. It has not recovered totally from shipping. I gues it must have ben very hot in transit as some of the tips and new growth just turned black and fell off. I'm not worried at all as there are lots of dark green leafs on there

Very nice Lauren nice size . Rinsing it with the watering hose should also help with the black powder . Congrats.

Thank you laura. I am going to go out and pot it soon and will take a pic. It has been pouring rain here all day and is kind of cold. I guess everything will be coming inside soon. My house is going to be like a tropical retreat to the cold winter.

Im using fabric pots to help drain faster they should work as long as i put something under it to help get air through. Its not AS yellow aa my flash made it look.

Very nice trees ladies!! I look forward to seeing updates on your trees progress. :) One little side note, you may have already done this, but be sure to inspect your tree from top to bottom to check for scale.. Four Winds shipped out Gold Nugget trees earlier this season that had scale. It might have been a section in their gh growing room that had an outbreak and they might have it under control by now. I hope they do and I am not trying to freak you out, but, it never hurts to be cautious and give them a thorough going over.. :)

Susanne, your GN looks good! That variation and cupping is what i see on my in-ground trees. I say "normal" for this type of mandarin.

Perhaps it would look better if it was maintained at 65-85F and mid to high RH.... but you would need to be in the tropics or in a GH.

Lauren - your tree should green up as you feed it.

Molew. this tree just came two or three weeks ago and I'm not expecting more. I'm surprised it is aready growing so shortly after potting. What is high RH? In winter because all trees are in relatively small room, RH is at least 60%. This year there will be some more trees and a bit warmer so I expect RH a bit higher but not by much. It is in the house after all and don't need mold growing.
