Very nice of you Susanne. I am not very active in this forum but once in a while I do drop a note in here. More often I enjoy the discussions amongst all of you more active posters.

Yes! Everyone is so helpful and respectful! And let's not forget the good sense of humor. Sometimes, a little laugh is all we need to brighten a sad rainy day or in my case, a sad rainy week. :os

Do these hurricanes affect you where you live. Here in Cincinnati we were hit by a dry hurricane with winds close to 90 miles per hour. 95% of Cincinnati went dark for up to 2 weeks. No street light. No gas stations. Hospitals have backup generators as well as University of Cincinnati has it own power plant with under ground lines. We were lucky it was not rain and the soil was DRY from drought.

Yes, I totally agree! I count you guys among my friends and have learned most of what I know about citrus here - not to mention the "encouragement" I have received to get new trees ;-)

Fellow Citrus'ers I have learned everything I know from people on this forum. I still learn by reading yours' ideas and the help you get from others more knowledgeable than myself.

I have 5 citrus trees of value and a bunch of 'toy' citrus trees to tinker with. I hope I have not been one of the people that has encouraged northerners to buy more trees. I am overwhelmed and intimidated by the 5 trees I have.

Yes and that is the biggest here. Encouragement. Not to give up even if there are failures. Yup, thank goodness they make more for us all the time. :)

I'm new to citrus. I got hooked back in May when I was in my local home depot and found a grafted baby meyer lemon. I have always been into organic raised bed gardening. I brought it home and made every noobie mistake that could be made. Bought several more trees before I realized how bad I was screwing up. It was finding this forum that helped me get things turned around. I've been reading a lot here since June. It's a lot to take in and very overwhelming. I feel like I'm on the right track but still have a lot to learn. The hardest thing to deal with is the addiction of buying plants. Lol, I didn't know there were so many different varieties of citrus fruit. You guys are wonderful for putting in the time to help others. Thank you!

I have learned so much about citrus and some other things as well from the knowledgeable and caring people of this forum. Even the newbies can teach us a thing or two. Best place to learn things... and I love the humour:))

Laura, just thought you should know that you are the reason I "just had" to have a calamondin, Austrailian finger lime and now a blood lime on the way. The calamondin also led to a variegated calamondin. I guess I'll blame the nagami kumquat on Steve. Lol

There is a very serious epidemic of citrus bug in this community and it is not curable:)))

Oh I can see me adding a variegated calamondin next year.

Variegateds are interesting to look at; but in general are weaker and harder to deal with than the standards.

yes so I heard John. But for me it is worth it. As a commercial grower no way it would work.

I appreciate each and everyone one of you for your support, knowledge and the time and care you put into responding to the posts.. Angela...lol...I'm sorry! I know I have had the citrus bug for a while now. It's funny, I found this board years ago when I had my meyer and persian lime and went periodically to it to get help. Then I don't remember exactly when (1.5 years +), I started learning about all the other incredible varieties and that was all it took....;-). I love this site and consider ya'll my friends ;-)

It's o.k. Laura, sooner or later I'll rebound from all this. Lol My credit card took a big hit, my amazon card is through the roof. It's one thing after the other.....pots, more pots, fertilizer, pro-tekt, gritty mix ingredients, more plants, more pots, lights, grow room supplies, bug-fightin' supplies.............you know the drill. Lol I think we all need rehab!
