Decor for Pale Grey Wall

Hello,

any advice on how i should decorate this pale grey wall opposite of the window?

window faces South.

Furnitire is live edge table with chrome metal base.

Mirror(s)?

One large piece of artwork?

Group of three paintings/prints?

Metal wall decor?

Your opinions and suggestions are appreciated. I would love this room to look like it had a professional touch!

    A mirror or an artwork

it's too glam and cool a wall...has enough interest in it as is..either art..and I'd choose probably something without glass, like an oil painting...or a mirror..or just leave as is, and put your art on the perpendicular wall. And I wouldn't do metal wall decor, unless it's some custom artist's installation..:)

(btw seems dark gray on my monitor..like, dark gray with touch of navy. Houzz does distort pics big time I guess)

ah all this time you were talking about the perpendicular wall! my bad, silly me!

ok, then still..art or mirror. Would choose one big artwork over three. As I've said, wouldn't do metal

    Thank you for the feedback!

@aprilneverends: yes I am struggling with the light pale grey wall and how narrow the room is. I am leaning towards one larger art piece since I see mirrors in dining rooms often enough to suggest it is too common.

Would you suggest an art canvas with colour or more monochromatic?

a really cool, large piece of art with a slender console below it. It's hard to see in this photo, but notice the mirrored console and the art canvas in shades of lavender, purple/and gray. love this

I like color, so I would use a type of abstract w/great coloring in it

If you're more of the monochromatic types, then something like this would work. It takes up a good portion of the wall and nothing else is needed.

@flo magan: thank you for an idea I have never heard before!
Just to clarify, you are suggesting a black piece in front of the darker feature wall? Do you recommend any objects on this thin console table?

Very interesting food for thought and I love the photo you posted. I will mesure my space and see if there is enough room.

Would you suggest wall paper the entire wall or frame the wall paper with moulding?

    Thank you!

Not sure how much width you have in the room, but something like this would be elegant and be a nice addition. I would be very minimalistic on placing items on it. Perhaps on the left a dramatic tropical flower arrangement in an Asian minimalistic look and maybe a interesting pot on the right side. Keep it simple.

Here is a room with some interesting features you could adopt. A couple of "gold or silver plate shelves" in the squares of your feature wall. A great pot on the floor as you enter the space.

A cabinet with a beautiful front surface would be wonderful as well. Lots of great ways to enhance your feature wall with simple features and some wallpaper to bring depth and interest without adding bulk to a narrow room. Not sure what your style is, but you could do flat white sliding panels at the window as well to minimize taking up room in the space.

These are ceiling mounted sliding panels. Very beautiful, minimalistic and would enhance your room quite a bit. These are in a bedroom, but we are seeing these more and more throughout homes. Good for sliding door entries as well.

you have an amazing chandelier, great bold wall, a very nice window

whatever art you'll choose-it should be a noble companion to all these great things your room already has

I feel like colors matter less. They matter in terms of what you'd want your room to say..but bold colors can be stunning, and black and white piece can be, and monochromatic can be quietly ...absorbing you in, you know?

the only condition I'd have for that art-it should be an art that strikes you. whether it strikes you immediately, or is killing you softly..:) It shouldn't cheapen what you've already got. Nothing mass produced.

Can be modern or traditional, abstract or figurative..your room can take a very cool art. Don't do too heavy or ornate a frame..you have enough dimension, you don't want to take away from that. Frameless might be even better. Just a canvas, you know?..

any way you can show us the table? it sounds intriguing

will inform a bit more about your preferences

I immediately thought of wallpaper and a black credenza and art.

Thank you everyone for your assistance with my dilemma!

I apologize in advance for the quality of the following photos.
Here are some pictures of my table and chairs.
Also attached is a photo of the entrance wall showing wainscotting.

Sadly I do not believe I have room for any console table. I appreciate the idea though and I hope after window paneling is placed I may place a smaller black table in the corner by the window (unable to see corner in my photos).

The wallpaper and art work are great suggestions!

Does every wall require treatment? Should the entrance wall showing wainscotting have art or something above it?

Etsy has a lot of xl art. I think the dark wall could stand alone.

Wood is often left alone. It is art itself.

    Nothing?

What are your plans for the window wall?Is there possibly space for a clear glass/lucite narrow console table on the wainscoting wall?

Or maybe only a mirror on the wainscoting wall?

No, not every wall requires treatment. I'd leave wainscoting wall alone

(if you had a whole house like that-well then one still needs surface for art, or mirrors, etc. But in your case it's definitely a feature wall, an art by itself to a degree, as was alreadt mentioned, so just leave as is, it's stunning in its own right)

    cool table and chairs!

The wall opposite the window we recommend doing a console table and piece of artwork. Here is an inspiration picture from one of our current designs.

If you post your room measurements, I can do a scale drawing for you to help define what is possible in your room. It is a beautiful accent wall but at least from photos it looks pretty narrow so careful selections will work best.

    What finish does chandelier have?

Because of the chrome base [and natural wood] how about birdies?

I was looking for something to repeat chandy's soft gold [is it?] and also silvery. I like that its "burst" repeats the radiating lines on end wall....

Are you saying that from entry the feature end wall is seen the most? It might look funny, but if you wanted/ loved a piece enough to hang it on end wall [in center I guess] ok by me... just idea:

Thank you everyone for your comments.

For those asking, the room is 9.5' wide and 10.5' in length before coming to the entrance of the room.

I have measured and it would be tight for a console table due to the two-three DR chairs at the DR table.

I have found a suitable art piece for the space and I am now looking at wall paper to bring texture and warmth in the room.

I hope to post an after picture within the next month.

    Thanks again!
