Oak...about the same period as the other 2 pieces. I wouldn't save the old stuffing...but make sure whoever is redoing it re ties the springs and puts new webbing in top and bottom. What's in the back? Is tehr any evidence of that having been caned?
And who's doing your work? I'm in Newton....always looking for a good upholster to work on old stuff.
