Attic master suite vs. master on main

Purchased a house built in 1935. Currently 1 bath/ 1 bed on main. 1 bath/ 2 bed in attic, and 1 bath/ 2 beds in basement. Would it be a mistake to convert 2nd bedroom in attic into a large master closet, leaving only two beds above grade? This was relatively common in older homes in downtown Vancouver (WA) but the house we just purchased is in Rapid City, SD. Thoughts?
