I have two. Good fruit, but I wish it was earlier maturing. For me they reach peak flavor mid to late January; risking destruction from freeze(s).

I see. Well im having a delimma i cant decide between the trovita and the valencia. I would like both but ive already got so mich this year i have to get one. Hmm..

I think i will probably go with the trovita this year and valencia next as i think i read that the trovita is related to the washington navel somehow which i am also interested in and i also read that valencia is a juice orange and im not sure i have room for just a juice orange. I could make juice from the ones i will eat also. Hmmm there are just to many varietys that i need at least one of. Hahaha.

The trovita is suppoused to be easy in winter and does not require a lot of heat to get sweet. Another nice one is the Cara. Just in case you are looking. If I would decide I need a valencia, I probably would go with Smith red.

Midknight is probably the latest best of the Valencias; but still at about 43% juice by weight, compared to my Meyers that are 70%

I've been eyeing the trovita also, but I think I will hold off and get a ponkan mandarin. I really am out of space.

Does anyone have experience with the Smith Red? I'm curious how long they'll hang on the tree without losing quality. If they can hang into May, June, or even July like some Valencias they'd be a great option and maybe one of the best blood oranges for cool-summer climates.
