Good Bluegrass Seed?

I’m looking for some good bluegrass seed to overseed and patch with this fall. I’ve looked online and the two major suppliers (Scott’s and Pennington) seem to have blends, not pure seeds, that are overpriced. I’ve also found a 50 pound bag for $160 but that’s quite a bit more than I need. Has anyone gotten a certain brand or mix that they really liked?

What kind of lawn do you have currently? Is it very thin? Overseeding KBG into even a half decent stand of grass is a futile endeavor, it takes long to germinate and can't compete with the established grass.

I have quite a thick lawn but there are some spots that are thinner than others. I’ll be doing it after an aeration which should also help, dropping the seed into holes. I’m going to make conditions very flavorful for KBG germination. I went to my local nursery today and bought a bag of seed that was a volt KBG, bonaire KBG, boreal red fescue, medallion perennial rye mix.
