Thanks for your comment Jim. Love the countertops. We work for some creative and inspired clients who are not afraid to step out there and embrace opportunities for artistic expression. It always starts with some kind of a vision, something special or inspiring to the client. For example, the kokopelli backsplash has special meaning for that family. We sourced materials that would work with it and used some remnants from their countertops to fabricate a custom base below the kokopellis (imagine "mountains"). Field mosaic was selected after sourcing many samples. All works great with the style of their home and their lifestyle. We love those challenges. If you can fabricate all the custom pieces, you can create your own "artwork". Can see many opportunities. Shoot us a private message with some photos and anything that "inspires" you. Happy to provide some of our thoughts. Most of the advice you will hear here will be to keep it simple, etc. That's fine for some people but we serve MANY who don't see it that way so don't be afraid to step out there.

Loved that and would like to hear your input about doing something like that at my bar. It will take some time to get back to you on this however.

That counter is phenomenal. I agree with jpp221. I would consider doing a solid piece of back painted glass painted the same colour as the wall. Glass suppliers can laser measure your space and do the necessary cutouts.

You need to decide whether you want to make your countertop the hero or the backsplash. Else both would fight for attention. Finally you want the entire setup to look nice than just individual items. If you're still very keen perhaps have the designs in the area above the stove /range cooker than the entire stretch of the backsplash.

Wow!! I've never seen anything like those splashes. They are incredible but too contemporary for my home. My place is more southwestern and in a rural setting. Plus being in the tile and stone trade, I have a rare opportunity to create something that utilizes the skills I have developed over the years. I just need creative minds to point me in the right direction. All comments are greatly appreciated, they give me a chance to look at all options before I make the final choice!

I totally agree with you, the counter tops are stunning and how fun would it be to design your own space for once!

Would you be able to post a face on view of the overall kitchen so that i'd be able to get a better feel for the space and the relationship the architecture of the room has with the counter tops!?

I'm also a fan of Dragonfly's work. When I saw your counters, I also thought of the Minneapolis tile company I used, Mercury Mosaics. Their glazes are rich, for lack of a better adjective, and they are both wonderful to work with and truly creative.
