Jean - looks like something has knocked them down. They will be fine, just plant them back in the pots. I had birds pulling my babies out and other small animals. Maybe if they outdoors all the time, cover them with a plastic big box like a dome to protect them while so small.

The shriveling could be one of two things with the seedlings. If they stay too moist, they can get collar rot and they rot off at the surface level and shrivel or if they become to dry for extended periods.

Rick is wright the way you sometimes can tell if the seedlings feel slimy its to much water if they feel just squishy needs water i dont like egg cartons they stay to moist and promote bacteria would you lick the outside of an egg ?probably not because were it comes from in Australia we call them bum nuts good luck:×)

I also use rain water on my Adeniums and other house plants.

They are doing so good, seems to recover nicely.
