Picking the right grey for bedroom carpet

I'm having a hard time picking the right shade of grey for bedrooms. We recently installed dark wood flooring in the hallway and would like a nice warm tone of grey that'll compliment the wood and not be too light as the bedrooms are the boys rooms and we do have a dog. It should be somewhat forgiving. picture below shows hallway off of the rooms, you can see the original carpet that we want to replace.

Your local carpet store will have samples for you to take home. Just like paint swatches, live with it for a few days and look at it in different lighting situations.

there are literally a thousand different shades. you have to go to a carpet store and look. if you have a spare piece of wood, bring it with you, otherwise bring home some samples. make sure you get that stain proof carpet. Shaw has it. I did a light-med gray.

This is so dependent on budget and mills that local to you. I second the suggestion to visit local carpet dealer. Take some big boards of swatches home. Then narrow down to 3 colors and have them order the large swatches from the mill. Take those home and look at them at different times of the day next to your wood and wall colors. Repeat this process if you have to. Good luck!

A tweed with tones of gray, beige and tan should work well, or shades of gray, tan and a grayish blue. You could paint the boys' rooms the grayish blue or a light creamy tan.
