Someone mentioned to me that luffa is a summer plant. In my experience, luffa is more a cooler plant, It does not flower until the cooler weather sets in at the end of summer. Right now, in my NJ garden, temperatures is in the mid 70s in the day and 50s at night. I have tons of flowers out there and many squashes hanging down the trellis.
