Both photos look like you have a good eye. Best bet is to go through photos on Houzz and get a feel for blue and grey kitchens. When you hit upon something that clicks, then work along the lines of that one.

Both are lovely.!! Think about the REST of your decor in your home. If in doubt, limit the "color" to an island, and keep the perimeter cabinetry white. Just as effective perhaps, and a more "forever" result. I see a chunk of white wood, so that may have been your plan anyway?

I like the blue

I think the blue is going to pop more than the grey. If your even thinking about blue then your not opposed to design risk. I say go for the blue!

I love both color combinations!! I'm leaning more towards blue, but you probably shouldn't listen to me-- it's one of my fave colors and all of our interior walls are blue lol we're also painting our kitchen SW interesting aqua; cabinets & trim will be SW alabaster

I agree with Jan Moyer, make sure to consider the rest of your home and it's ascetics. I would also think about resale, are you planning on selling any time soon? If so, grey would be the safer choice. It also depends on how you will be using the grey or blue. Is it for an island? Wood hood and base?

I love the blue. Navy, while a color, acts like a neutral. It's the same thing how denim acts like a neutral. It's both safe and bold so it's perfect.

Both look great! I like the top grey option. It's got more of a neutral look to it but still has blue undertones.

Thank you all. Here are a few photos from my home for context. I played around with the combinations of colors and materials further and I think it is the combination of the grey with the walnut that isn't sitting quite right with me. The plan would be to have grey or blue lower, tall, and island cabinets with white upper cabinets. One length of counter in wood and the island in quartz/quartzite. With a copper sink and champagne bronze/brass faucet, hardware, and pendants. SS appliances. We don't have immediate plans to sell but resale is a consideration. When I switch out maple for walnut with the grey I like it better than I do with the walnut. But the blue still feels happier to me. I do worry about bucking a trend if we do decide to sell.

I would do the blue, especially since your second photo makes the gray look really dark and a bit dead. Blue two-tone kitchens are a bit on trend, but you (or a buyer) can always paint everything white later if the market is more conservative.

Love the blue but then again blue is my favorite color and my island will be navy so I am a bit biased.

I love the blue! It is bold enough to pop, but neutral enough to flow with the rest of the kitchen/house. I agree that grey may be a safer option for selling purposes, but if you don't have plans to sell within the next 5 years or so, it may not be as big of a consideration. Although the blue is dark, it still gives off a lighter feel; depending on the lighting in your kitchen, the grey may look too dreary.

I think the gray trend is starting to decline now and will start looking dated in a few years. The blue is a less common look, but not too far off the beaten path and I think it will still be attractive to many buyers because it will look great in your kitchen overall.

I agree that the blue is a better choice and will flow with your home style more than the gray.

Blue will suit the rest of the house much better.
