I would go with a black Toilet. Gives it a different feel. You don't always see black toilets in every home. Give Black a try. It will look nice

I guess in that setting, I'd go with black. Otherwise it will really jump out and sort of ruin the effect you're going for.

why not the Brizo faucet in a matte black? I think that would look much better than the nickel, no?

Better yet, do a wall mount faucet. pain in the butt to clean behind a vessel sink w/the faucet.

what will the countertop be? prob black if everything else is black.

And don't tighten the drain cover too much on the sink! never heard of the exploding glass thing, and I've had a few of the vessels. Hopefully OP is using a reputable maker.

White toilet. My sister had dark brown toilet once and found it very off-putting to clean or even look at when it had been used, but not flushed. Sorry, trying to be delicate but, take my word for it. You don't want a black toilet.

I recently posted as well about my tempered glass vessel sink that spontaneously exploded... I was right next to the sink when it happened, the explosion was pretty forceful and pieces of the glass tried to imbed into my skin, fortunately the cuts were fairly minor and healed quickly. The glass shot out over 20 ft into my foyer when it happened.
The company that manufactured the sink was great; there was a warranty on the sink and they normally would replace it but I understandably didn't want a glass sink anymore, so they are sending me a vessel sink from their stone collection that is supposed to arrive in a few weeks.

Anyways, we have a lot of dark charcoal/white in our powder room (the sink was the pop of blue and it was beautiful imo) but we went with a white toilet even though the other fixtures were matte black. The toilet doesn't look out of place in our opinion. You can see the edge of it in the photo... the dark tile behind it goes all the up to the 9' ceiling and has 3 walnut shelves with mostly decorative items on them. (I still have a pop of blue in a large glass item on the top shelf, but our replacement sink will be a white matte stone/resin mixture. I'm going to miss how that blue sink looked, but I'll never have a glass sink again...)

skmom,,,wow. unreal. I've never seen that. I had a beautiful, hand blown vessel sink for almost 10years. i wonder if that process is safer. Too bad you're getting a new one already. This artist is in Denver and does beautiful work.

Wow, that's really lovely... I image hand blown glass doesn't carry the same manufacturing issues that the tempered glass ones produced in mass can carry, but apparently any glass that isn't annealed properly can spontaneously explode. I still think they're gorgeous, and I still have other decorative glass in my home... but never as a sink again. ;)

We actually were interviewed by our local Fox News station recently about what happened, they're developing a consumer report story and it's supposed to air later this month.

I've had a black toilet. Couldn't really tell when it was dirty, which I guess is good and bad. But I am freaky about toilet seats and replace every couple of years (I live with 4 men) and its very difficult to find a black toilet seat. My toilet is now white.

Somehow when I try to picture white, it doesn't work in here...white would look too "mid-remodell-y" to me...and against all that black would just scream TOILET!!!!

In other words, if I had an all white bathroom, i wouldn't put a black toilet in there...

If you live somewhere with hard water a black toilet will be a nightmare. Personal experience...

Black toilets just don't look sanitary to me ... just a quirk of mine. All my baths ' fixtures, towels, rugs are all in white...

Every water spot. Every bit of toilet paper lint. Every bit of, well, everything. It all shows. And it never looks clean.

White toilet, black seat looks good.

Black on black on black on... is not easy to pull off. There's a scent I'm imagining. A quiet, almost abandoned area, a toilet with cobwebs, no window and no light, leave the door ajar for a freaky glow.

And then the cleaning matter. Just no. Some things are incredibly impractical.

I've had a black toilet in a powder room before (with hard water) and it wasn't a problem. We will be installing a water softener.

The ceiling is a really bright white and the same white will be used in the baseboard.

If there's room I have a narrow black cabinet with mother of pearl inlay that would go in there too. If not, I have some white "moulding shelves" that I could use on the long wall. So the toilet wouldn't be the only white thing in the room. And it is opposite the wall of the vanity and light.

White toilet and if you want more black, add a black toilet seat. More timeless this way as well.

I wish you could still get colored fixtures. A sky-blue toilet would be perfect.

What do you know? I found a blue toilet! And not that much more $$$ than a white one, much less black. Problem solved!
