Fall watering especially for Early Spring bloomers

I thought of this two years ago when we had a dry summer leading into a dry fall.

All the services say is to be sure to water your bushes and shrubs in the fall but that can be needless and expensive.

I decided to focus on the plants that are setting buds now for the spring. Azalea, Star Magnolia, etc.

I set a hose dripping at the base for 24 hours for each plant. I had a bloom this last spring that was impressive.

(I wish someone would change the contrasts on this site so I could see the text boxes instead of guessing where they are...)
