pups from cuttings: When can I cut them off?

Hi, I am wondering how big the pups should be before I can cut them from the leaves and pot them separately. In my case, the cuttings are S. trif. 'Robusta' and 2 of the 3 pups are about 8 to 9 cm high, the third one is still quite small, maybe 3 cm.

Hi Lisbeth,

Those pups will grow a lot faster if you leave them attached to the mom. I would wait til next spring if you want to separate them.

I agree w/ Barbmock & would have said certainly the 3 cm is too small to separate.

Thats neat. It doesn't seem that their growth was stunted that much.
I have a 1 year progression of a similar 2-pup that I kept attached to the leaf. Though my soil was crap and light was low for the first year until this summer when they blew up.
The photos look like only 1 pup, but it's got 2.
